Patricia Haley, Editor-in-Charge

Changeling Press LLC, was founded Feb. 10th, 2004 by William and Margaret Riley.  This has been a dream-under-construction for about 6 years. They’re new. They’re starting off small. However they have sound financial backing and many years of industry and business experience.

Changeling Press will be publishing erotic novellas, with an emphasis on serials and series with an “Out of this world” theme. Submissions must be erotic love stories. What’s a love story? The hero and heroine must display a genuine attraction for one another that goes beyond sex, but realistic, plot driven resolutions are preferred. If they’ve known each other two days, while it would probably be a good thing if they didn’t shoot each other and walk off holding a smoking gun, don’t try to convince us they’re going to live happily ever after, either.

What they DON’T want: No vanilla sex, no straight Contemporary Romance. Turn up the heat, think out of this world!

Stories must have a good solid plot and well developed characterization. While strong sexuality is a must, we don’t want porn.

ABSOLUTELY UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE will they ever accept ANY child pornography, necrophilia, bestiality, scat, or snuff. If you’re not sure, ask. Sentient animals (I.E. Shape shifters or Aliens) are permissible.

Ellora’s Cave

1056 Home Ave.
Akron, OH 44310-3502
Email:  submissions@ellorascave.com

Raelene Gorlinsky, Publisher

Primarily a publisher of electronic books.  Books are not considered for print release until after digital release.  Ellora’s Cave Publishing defines Romantica as any work of literature that is both romantic and sexually explicit in nature. Within this genre, a man and a woman develop “in love” feelings for one another that culminate in a monogamous relationship. In a piece of Romantica literature, sexual language is typically expressed in frank adult terms, rather than couched in flowery phrases. In other words, rather than describing  lust in a woman’s body as “a whirlwind of electricity that jolted through her love valley” as is generally found in mainstream romance novels, an author of Romantica might say, “intense desire coursed through her body, causing her to become wet.” (NC-17 titles typically use much more graphic language than that.)

For erotic romance or maintstream fiction, send first three chapters and final chapter in DOC or RTF format along with a detailed synopsis to submissions@ellorascave.com.  No paper submissions.

Ellora’s Cave is currently accepting all genres except female dominance.  Most popular are vampire, shapeshifter, futuristic and bondage/male dominance.    Interested in acquiring gay/lesbian romances.  Minimum word length 20,000 words.  Prefer over 50,000 words.  Opening a new erotica line in late 2006 with a minimum length of 10,000 words.

Cerridwen Press is looking for mystery/suspense, women’s fiction, chick-lit, paranormal and futuristic romance.  Word length: 50,000 – 125,000 words.

Terri Schaefer, editorial director
Rachel Fox, special projects director

Established 1999.

Full length novels – 45,000 – 80,000
Super Novels – 80,000 +
Novella length – 25,000 – 45,000

They are currently accepting all erotic romance genres and particularly are seeking historical, fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal. They want to see strong stories, stories that could stand on their own if the sex was omitted. They are looking for the build up of passion, the explosion of a sexual relationship between a man and woman, and not just a story with one sex scene after another. They are looking for the traditional “happy ever after” and the commitment of the man and woman involved. Subjects that are “outside the box” are of particular interest to them.

Word length is as follows: 20,000–100,000+. They prefer over 50,000. Various special projects occur and those calls for submission are posted on the Web site.

Quick Silvers – Short but not sweet romances 20,000 – 25,000 word length.

Send the first three chapters and the synopsis of your book along with a cover letter to subs2007@liquidsilverbooks.com. Within the cover letter tell them the following:

1. Your writing background.
2. Your thoughts on ePublishing – the reasons why you are exploring ePublishing and your expectations of doing so.

Treva Hart, Editor-in-Chief

Email:  submissions@loose-id.com

Established 2004.

Loose Id is actively acquiring stories from both aspiring and established authors. They are a royalty-paying e-publisher, and they hold ourselves to the highest standards of contract fairness as defined by EPIC.

Currently accepting:

Multicultural and I/R, extremely hot suspense and paranormal, LGBT and menage.

Stories 20K and up, with the exception of Flings from authors previously published by Loose Id, which may be shorter. Previously published stories will be accepted only if author owns all e-rights.

  • Cross-genre love stories. That is, a romance or love story, plus significant elements of another genre. For example: action-adventure, alternative lifestyles and sexualities, comedy (please, not just light drama; by comedy we really mean comedy—whether a comedy of manners or a chick lit, there must be a strong comedic element), fantasy, futuristic, paranormal, suspense (please, not a minor mystery for the characters to resolve; make the suspense a central element of the plot), science fiction, urban fantasy.

  • No straight contemporaries or historicals. A straight contemporary or historical is any contemporary or historical where other genre (or content, see below) elements are non-integral to the plot and represent less than 50% of the content/conflict of the story.

  • High degree of sensuality. No closed doors, no purple prose. But also no gratuitous, unmotivated sex scenes; however, eroticism and language should be as graphic and explicit as the plot and characters will bear.

  • Love story. Traditional ‘goals and motivations in conflict’ romance is fine, as are ‘with romantic elements’ big plot stories. In any case, the love story should be no less than roughly 35% of the plot.

Send a query letter with your name and contact e-mail, the name of the manuscript you are submitting and the name of the series it is a part of, if any, the completion status and expected length of your manuscript, the genre, the premise, and the degree of sensuality present in your manuscript, the marketing hook and intended readership of your manuscript, your bibliography and sales history, if any.

Also include a short but complete Synopsis focusing on the characters’ goals and motivations, the major story events, climax and ending and a partial which includes the first Three Chapters of your manuscript. A short prologue should not be counted. If all of the major characters are not represented in the first three chapters or the love story has not yet begun, please send through those points to the nearest chapter break.

Authors with multiple previous publications may submit a proposal which includes a Query Letter and an expanded Synopsis. Please note that acceptance on proposal, while it does occur, is not the norm.

Send the submissions package to submissions@loose-id.com.
